Understanding the data behind the visualization
This application uses data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The Military Expenditure Database contains consistent time series on the military spending of countries for the period 1949–2024. The Arms Transfers Database contains information on all transfers of major conventional weapons from 1950 to the present.
